At What Age Should You Draw Up a Will?

This is a question many people ask, and the answer is not very simple as there is no right or wrong answer. What we can say, however, is that a will should be drawn up when you feel you have something to protect, and if you’re worried about ensuring relatives do not have disputes if you were to pass away, then you’d be right to contemplate drawing up a will now, no matter what age you are.

Different circumstances will affect different individuals, so some may feel obligated to draw up a will when they’re 30, whilst others may not even think about a will until they’re 50 or above. The main reason though, for many, is that a will is the only way to make sure your savings and possessions (your estate) go to the people and causes that you care about, so if you don’t do it, you’ll be letting them down, and they may then have to fork out money out of their own pocket for your funeral, which probably isn’t fair to them. So it’s completely up to you but the sooner you think about a will, the better.
